Rosewood Inn Of the Anasazi

A refined southwestern escape

Nestled in the heart of downtown Santa Fe, the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi offers a sophisticated Southwestern experience that blends luxury with deep cultural roots. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out—the staff warmly greeted us and helped unload the car, giving me a chance to admire the adobe-style architecture that seamlessly blends into the city’s historic aesthetic.

Inside, the lobby felt intimate and inviting. As we made our way to the room, I couldn’t help but admire the intricate hand-carved doors and thoughtfully curated artwork from local artisans—each piece telling a story of the region’s vibrant heritage.

We stayed in a Deluxe Room, which balanced modern comfort with traditional Pueblo design. Wooden vigas and latillas adorned the ceiling, and a kiva-style fireplace added a cozy, authentic touch. The room was spotless, and the extra masks provided by the hotel were a thoughtful nod to guest care.

After a long day on the road, we settled in with a glass of tequila—served in elegant Rosewood-branded flute glasses—and exhaled into relaxation. Soon after, we made our way downstairs to The Anasazi Restaurant, excited to dive into its seasonal menu inspired by the region’s Native and Southwestern roots.

We started with the signature tortilla soup, a staple dish that’s elevated with melted cheese swirled throughout. Next came perfectly grilled shrimp paired with a vibrant mango salsa, followed by a prickly pear margarita rimmed with black salt that was as striking as it was refreshing.

For mains, I savored beautifully plated lamb chops topped with crispy onions, while Matthew opted for beef medallions laced with cinnamon and warm spices—a flavorful homage to New Mexican cuisine. We wrapped up the meal with flan and cheesecake, both as delicious as they were photogenic.

Back in our room, we sank into the plush bed and quickly drifted to sleep, fully content.

The next morning, breakfast was delivered to our room—one of my favorite parts of the stay. Over the course of our visit, I sampled the breakfast quesadilla, burrito, and fluffy pancakes, each dish showcasing local ingredients and comforting flavors.

From thoughtful service to its culinary highlights, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi is the ideal place to eat, stay, and explore in Santa Fe. Whether you’re on a road trip, a staycation, or seeking a cultural escape, this elegant inn captures the essence of the Land of Enchantment—and then some.
