Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance
The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance is North America’s premier wooden boat show. This year it took place at Obexer’s Boat Company located on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore. Its scenic views of the lake provided a stunning backdrop to display mahogany works of art.
The Concours d'Elegance was established in 1972 when a group of Tahoe Yacht Club members got together to share their passion for wooden boats. Today, the event has grown into a key part of Lake Tahoe maritime preservation and education.

Enhancements to the experience include fine wine and cocktails, local cuisine, and various vendor booths filled with luxury items. Presented by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, Wooden Boat Week was filled with exclusive social events commemorating the prestige and history of wooden boats. It included an Opening Night Gala dinner, luncheon at a private estate, etc.
Over the course of its 48-year legacy, Concours has created its own meticulous 100-point judging system. The judges of the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance include some of the most knowledgeable and capable individuals in the antique and classic boating community. They come from various walks of life and from all around the United States.
Overall, I had a wonderful time at Concours d'Elegance and I look forward to attending again next year!
