Oscar de la Renta Fashion Show & Luncheon

Some runway shows are beautiful. Others are unforgettable. On August 2, 2025, Oscar de la Renta delivered the latter. The house debuted its Pre-Spring 2026 collection at Kern Schumacher’s lakefront estate in Incline Village, Nevada, with the crystalline waters of Lake Tahoe as its backdrop.

The day unfolded like a perfectly choreographed summer dream. At 11 a.m., guests gathered on the manicured lawn, one hand with a glass of G.H. Mumm champagne, the other with decadent caviar bites served by The Caviar Co. Beyond the laughter and clinking glasses, the sparkling lake stretched toward the horizon—a breathtaking reminder of why this event exists: to protect one of the world’s most extraordinary natural treasures.

At 12:15 p.m., the welcome luncheon began, accompanied by a spirited live auction that had paddles flying in the name of conservation. Then, at 1 p.m., it was time for the main event: the Oscar de la Renta fashion show. Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia presented a Pre-Spring 2026 collection that danced effortlessly between elegance and ease—fluid fabrics caught the light like ripples on the water, vibrant prints mirrored Tahoe’s blues and greens, and silhouettes carried that unmistakable Oscar de la Renta refinement.

By 2 p.m., the runway transformed into a trunk show, giving guests the rare opportunity to shop the collection mere moments after seeing it grace the sand-edged catwalk.

This year marked the 56th annual Benefit Fashion Show and Luncheon in partnership with the League to Save Lake Tahoe, raising an incredible $1.4 million to support the League’s mission to #KeepTahoeBlue. More than just a summer tradition, it’s a perfect marriage of glamour and purpose—a celebration of beauty in all its forms, from couture craftsmanship to the pristine waters that inspired it.

Overall, it was a world-class experience that I won’t forget—where fashion, philanthropy, and the spirit of Oscar himself came together in perfect harmony on the shores of Tahoe.
