Carmel-by-the-Sea
Carmel-by-the-Sea Cafe
Café Carmel is a cozy, warm, and welcoming bakery and cafe on Ocean Avenue. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and late afternoon offerings are cooked to order, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Don’t miss the sweet and savory french toasts as well as the beautifully presented breakfast sandwich. Baked goods are prepared daily and are far from ordinary! If you have a craving for ice cream, settle your sweet tooth with a scoop (or two) of Marianne’s ice cream made in nearby Santa Cruz – it’s truly delightful!
Owner, Sarah Cook grew up on the South Coast of England in a quaint village that’s similar to Carmel-by-the-Sea. She eventually brought her passion for cooking and baking to Café Carmel and its a spot that’s loved by both locals and tourists. Don’t miss the custom mural created by Carmel-based folk artist, Marie-Clare Treseder Gorham – it’s quite insta worthy!
Pacific Grove
Pacific Grove Restaurants
Mezzaluna is where the locals go when they’re craving Italian food. Pasta, mozzarella, and gelato are made fresh daily and the menu changes depending on what’s in season. A signature dish is the Rigatoni alla Buttera, a tribute to restaurant, Coco Pazzo where award-winning Chef, Soerke Peters once worked. The service is top-notch and when it comes to alcoholic beverages, Mezzaluna raises the bar. There are innovative and beautifully presented cocktails, in addition to a wonderful selection of beers, ciders, wine, and Amaro.
Chef Peters sources only the freshest local ingredients and was awarded the Ocean Hero Award from the Monterey Bay Aquarium for his responsible sourcing of seafood and preserving our oceans for generations to come. Mezzaluna is a unique restaurant and its flavorful cuisine with quality ingredients keeps guests coming back for more!
Satisfy your craving for fresh seafood at Wild Fish. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and its evolving menu is based on local finds their chef discovers at the nearby seafood and farmers markets. If you visit on a Friday night, you’ll experience music from the local Monterey Jazz scene, making for a great night out in downtown Pacific Grove. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and at the end of your meal try to save some room for the sticky toffee pudding – it’s delightful!
Monterey
Monterey Restaurant
Overlooking Del Monte Golf Course, Sea Root at Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel offers an enticing menu that features Mediterranean flavors paired with Pacific Coast ingredients. Open for breakfast and dinner, it keeps your taste buds on their toes as it offers unexpected flavors and food pairings.
The restaurant design is contemporary and sleek. Surrounded by a grove of pine trees and roaring outdoor fireplace, there’s a warm and inviting atmosphere that offers the perfect ambiance to gather with loved ones and friends.
If dining there for dinner, I’d advise starting out with one of their fabulous artisanal cocktails or a glass of local wine.
As for their starters, the Shrimp Scampi is a must-have as its sauce is bursting with flavor and jumbo shrimps are juicy and tender.
As for entrées, their Market Salmon is a must have. With a bed of delicious beans and chard, the salmon is a dish that touches upon the best of the land and the ocean.
If you’re looking for a nice environment coupled with the fantastic tastes of Monterey Bay, Sea Roots is a great choice.
