Having spent much time wine tasting in Northern California’s wine country, I recently branched out and trekked to Oregon’s Willamette Valley for a week away from the Bay Area.
Driving 10 hours north of San Francisco, I was unsure of what to expect once we crossed the border. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by the greenery and mellow environment.
While in the area, I stayed in McMinnville, a pleasant town with lots of character, delicious restaurants, and variety of places to grab a drink. It’s home to the famous Spruce Goose, the largest wooden airplane ever constructed.
The 3rd Street Flats are positioned right above all of the action in McMinnville. I had the pleasure of staying in the 4th Flat: The Retreat featuring plush green velvet couches, exposed brick walls, and has an artsy vibe. With its own kitchen, living room and bedroom, each room is luxurious and comfortable.
Within walking distance of all the top spots in town, I found the 3rd Street Flats to be the perfect spot to lounge while taking in the surrounding area. Just within a few blocks, you’ll find three different breweries alone. That’s hard to beat!
Next up, I am staying a few blocks away at the Atticus Hotel, the sister hotel of 3rd Street Flats. Stay posted for my next review!
Beautiful! I’m ready for a visit! So cool you saw the Spruce Goose ✈️
