When in need of a little staycation, this beachfront boutique hotel is the perfect spot for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area. I stayed in an Ocean View Suite and the views were a feast for the eyes!
Sunrise
Enjoy a complimentary Continental breakfast in the lobby or in the comforts of your own room. Sit out on your private deck in the morning and take in the sights and sounds of beautiful Half Moon Bay. It was exciting to see dolphins swimming about while sipping coffee.
After breakfast, take a stroll or bike along the beach. You may need to do this considering the pastries you ate for breakfast!
If you’re a surfer, catch a wave! Mavericks Beach at Pillar Point near Half Moon Bay is the site of the annual big wave surfing competition called Mavericks.
Sunset
Grab a glass of wine and some cheese at the complimentary wine reception on Friday and Saturday evenings. There’s a bonfire on Friday nights where guests can enjoy s’mores and complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Don’t miss out on the s’mores though – the hotel manager makes the marshmallows herself!
Eat at Sam’s Chowder House, located right next door
We went there two days in a row – it’s that good!
I feasted on seaweed salad, clam chowder, and a clam bake with a mai tai in hand!
I’ve always visited Half Moon Bay for day trips, but it was a treat to spend a couple of nights there. It’s so peaceful and looking at the beautiful ocean put my mind at ease. I left feeling recharged and refreshed!
I had a wonderful stay at Beach House Hotel Half Moon Bay. The spectacular sunset views will never escape from my mind!
Sam’s chowder house looks amazing…I can see why you ate there two days in a row. Can’t wait to go!
