Located right off Union Square, the Beacon Grand hotel blends gilded glamor and modern comforts in downtown San Francisco. Situated at the center of the city, it’s a great base for exploring. One can find a classic San Francisco cable car outside of the front doors and hop on for an adventure!
The hotel first opened in the 1920s and still retains its original features including an elegant staircase and mezzanine that overlooks a grand lobby. Just up the stairs there’s a Library with wood paneling that offers a cozy and sophisticated environment to enjoy a cocktail or fine whisky. There’s a large fireplace, grand piano, and when you look up there’s a high-ceiling that features ornate details.
Every guest room and suite have been fully renovated and feature a contemporary design, rich hues, and European oak hardwood floors. Walls in the Grand guest rooms are “Beacon blue” and feature dramatic paneling. They are filled with light and offer city views.
The hotel has an eco-friendly mindset and features eco-luxury bath products from C.O. Bigelow. In addition, one can find two refillable PathWater bottles next to their bed and on each floor there are bottle-filling stations to keep one hydrated.
In mid to late 2023 there will be a brasserie serving traditional French cuisine. In addition, elegant seafood towers and an extensive French Champagne and wine list. Following a nice meal, one can then head to Starlite Lounge for entertainment.
Overall, I had an enjoyable stay at the Beacon Grand. It’s a great base for a city adventure!
