It was a fun Labor Day on the lake! We escaped the smoky Bay Area and headed to Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore.
I stayed in a Lake View Room perched above the restaurant and lakeside action. The bed’s goose-down comforter added a cozy touch and there were captivating views from sunrise to sunset.
A little birdie told Sunnyside that it was my birthday week, so I was surprised with a bottle of Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs and a sweet birthday note from the staff! Throughout my stay, the staff of Sunnyside repeatedly made note of my birthday which made me feel truly special!
Due to Covid, Sunnyside Lodge isn’t able to do their typical breakfast spread (though the in-room cinnamon rolls are delicious). They’ve been kind enough to treat guests with a couple of mai tais and zucchini fries during their stay. It’s a delightful pairing!
A visit to Sunnyside is not complete without a slice of their Kimo’s Original Hula Pie! Think macadamia nut ice cream, hot fudge, toasted mac nuts, a chocolate cookie crust, and whipped cream. It’s to die for!
Sunnyside is the perfect place to Eat, Play and Stay on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore. It’s been a Lake Tahoe landmark since the 1950s and is loved by both visitors and locals!
WOW, I’m booking Sunnyside for our next trip
To Tahoe! The hula pie is calling my name!
