Geyserville is a charming small town in Sonoma County that’s nestled between the stunning Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. It’s named after the discovery of geothermal springs in the Mayacamas Mountains just east of town and charms visitors with old town storefronts, fine restaurants, and world-class wineries. Located just off the main road, The Geyserville Inn offers convenience and charm paired with the comforts of a modern hotel.
The Geyserville Inn is owned and operated by the Christensen family who have owned it for two generations. It has a small town, country vibe where the service is personable and warm. In 2019, the inn underwent a $2 million renovation project that included a remodeled lobby, rooms and suites. During my visit I stayed in a spacious King Suite with a cozy fireplace and jacuzzi bathtub. A unique feature is that it offers vineyard views from two separate private balconies.
Just steps from The Geyserville Inn is the Hoffman House where the Geyserville Grill is located. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as brunch on weekends. The menu includes classic American comfort food and locally-sourced ingredients. It’s fun to peruse the wine menu as it features an extensive list of local Sonoma and Napa County wines as well as the Christensen’s own property grown and bottled Zinfandel, named “ChristenZin.” The bar is worth checking out as it has a classic copper ceiling and TV that’s perfect for watching sports games.
If you’re seeking a casual meal, check out Paul’s Kitchen at The Geyserville Inn. It’s open Mondays – Wednesdays and one can enjoy breakfast and lunch items all day on their picnic tables located in the garden.
Throughout the property there are many touches that add to its unique vibe such as their vintage truck, wine barrels, and a red barn nestled in the vineyards. With its great location amongst the vines, The Geyserville Inn offers an authentic wine country stay in Sonoma County.
