Hotel Shattuck Plaza is a historic hotel in downtown Berkeley located in a mission-style building from 1910. It captures the essence of the city’s cultural and artistic spirit and some of the accommodations feature breathtaking views of the Berkeley hills and the Golden Gate Bridge.
The hotel is situated in a convenient central location and is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and theaters. It’s also around the corner from BART and the UC Berkeley shuttle, making it a popular stay for UC Berkeley parents. Overall, it’s a sweet stay that’s perfect for both relaxation and productivity.
I stayed in a suite and it was fitted with plush furnishings, tasteful decor, and modern comforts. Throughout my stay, I found the service to be friendly and helpful.
I enjoyed starting and ending my day at Zino restaurant onsite. It has a contemporary design and Mediterranean flavors. I found the cuisine to be nicely presented, flavorful, and their warm flatbread is not to be missed! Their expansive, light-filled and stylish bar is quite popular and is a nice place to meet up with others.
Other amenities onsite include a fitness center with modern equipment. There are meeting rooms and venues that are well suited for a variety of occasions such as business meetings, gatherings or social events.
If you’ve got a pampered pooch, Hotel Shattuck Plaza extends a warm welcome (and special treats) to pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
Overall, Hotel Shattuck Plaza is a wonderful stay for experiencing the best of the North and East Bay!
