If you are a sparkling wine lover and/or history buff, I highly recommend visiting Schramsberg Vineyards for a tour and tasting!
We rode in style to Schramsberg Vineyards with Elegant Wine Tours. Our wonderful & knowledgable driver, Liam holds an advanced certification from WSET and has spent two decades within the international wine industry. It was a lovely and scenic drive along the Silverado Trail. Liam explained to us the rich history of the Valley and many of the great leaders that have made it what it is today. If you want to go wine tasting in Napa Valley but don’t know where to visit, contact Elegant Wine Tours as they provide bespoke wine tour planning and booking.
The Schramsberg’s Traditional Cave Tour & Tasting was wonderful! Our guide shared the rich history of Schramsberg, their 125-year-old caves, and winemaking process – from harvest to bottle. The tasting included a variety of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyard wines.
For over 50 years, Schramsberg has been committed to crafting extraordinary sparkling wines and has played a role in world history. The Blanc de Blancs was used for President Nixon’s 1972 “Toast to Peace” with China’s premier Zhou Enlai. Schramsberg’s sparkling wines have been served at official State functions by every U.S. Presidential administration since.
Schramberg’s Blanc de Blancs is one of my favorite sparkling wines! It is made from 100% chardonnay and has a fruitful fragrance that intermingles with hints of honey and lemon zest. It’s a keeper. Cheers!
