Tucked away from Ocean Avenue in Carmel-by-the-Sea, is The Artist’s Way, a quaint rooftop apartment with a private balcony that overlooks Carmel’s charming downtown. If you’re looking for the perfect nook from which to explore the quaint seaside town of Carmel, you will love this 525-square-foot vacation rental with old-world charm. Situated on the upper floor of a courtyard that includes numerous businesses, The Artist’s Way is just steps away from the Hog’s Breath Inn, formerly owned by Clint Eastwood.
Inspired by the nearby ocean environment, its color scheme includes soothing tones of white, gray and blue while its eclectic décor captures the creative spirit of Carmel. The vacation rental can accommodate up to three guests and features one bedroom, one bath, and a comfy pull out couch. The dining area is a charming nook with coastal accents.
My favorite feature is the private balcony off of the living room. Upon arrival, my boyfriend, Matthew and I settled in and enjoyed sitting out on the private balcony. We sipped on the complimentary bottle of local District 7 Chardonnay provided and nibbled away on cheese and crackers.
Overall, The Artist’s Way is the perfect base for exploring Carmel-by-the-Sea as well as the greater Monterey Peninsula. It’s walking distance to the beach and well-known restaurants are just steps away. If you’re a golf lover, the world-class golf courses at Pebble Beach are just 10 minutes away. During my stay, I went on plenty of coastal walks and a favorite of mine was Point Lobos. Here one can take in stunning coastal views and spot numerous sea animals.
Another favorite pastime of mine when in Carmel is just roaming the charming streets, romantic alleyways and getting lost. There is always something new to discover and stumble upon!
As for dining, the first morning, my boyfriend, Matthew and I had breakfast at the local Cafe Carmel, a cozy, warm, and welcoming bakery and cafe on Ocean Avenue. The sweet and savory french toasts as well as the beautifully presented breakfast sandwich are not to be missed!
One evening, we ventured to Pacific Grove for dinner at one of my favorite Italian restaurants, Mezzaluna. It’s where the locals go when they’re craving Italian food. Pasta, mozzarella, and gelato are made fresh daily and the menu changes depending on what’s in season. Each time I visit I get to try something new and exciting!
After each day of exploring, coming back to The Artist’s Way felt like returning to one’s home away from home. Sanctuary Vacation Rentals are somewhere between a fine resort and a hotel with many wonderful amenities. This was my second stay at a Sanctuary Vacation Rentals property and overall I appreciate the host’s good communication skills, adding special touches that matter, and how each rental is equipped with everything a guest needs and more. Guests need only arrive with their suitcases!
Looks lovely and romantic ❤️ location is awesome, wil definitely look into staying there next time we are in Carmel. The food looks delicious. 👌🏽
