Delicious Italian Meal at Tratto
Housed in a 1910 beaux-arts style building, The Marker San Francisco is newly renovated and instantly delights guests with its sophisticated design and cheeky, Alice in Wonderland vibes. The hotel is two blocks away from Union Square and the cable car.
I stayed in the elegant Junior Suite that offers 525 sq. ft. of luxury comfort. The bedroom features a king-size pillow-top bed and it’s living room has a queen-size sleeper sofa. The bathroom invites guests to indulge with a 5-foot Jacuzzi tub, shower, and Jonathan Adler bath amenities.
When happy hour rolls around, head downstairs for live music and complimentary wine. There is a wine reception every evening in the hotel’s living room.
To settle my craving for Italian food, I made my way to Tratto, the hotel’s stand-alone modern Italian trattoria and bar. Tratto’s flavorful menu includes simple, shareable dishes coupled with casual, communal-style dining that creates a neighborhood bar experience inspired by the Italian tradition of “aperitivo,” or happy hour. I dined on delicious Orecchiette with broccolini, broccoli pesto, Calabrian chili, parmesan, and breadcrumbs. It was delicioso!
The Marker’s dramatic design caters to the artistic, cultured and adventurous traveler. It stands out from many other San Francisco hotels with its jewel-toned spacious suites and lively vibe!
