Odette Estate Winery is a hidden gem in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District. It specializes in powerful & elegant full-bodied reds and looks to serve as a “breath of fresh air”, providing a modern twist on the historic Stags Leap District.
Like its sister wineries, PlumpJack and CADE, the name “Odette” is a Shakespearean reference. All three wineries are part of PlumpJack Group, founded by Gavin Newsom and Gordon Getty.
Walking into the sleek and modern tasting room, the first thing I noticed was the view of gorgeous vineyards through the large glass windows. Our Tour Guide, Casey welcomed us with a refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc, perfect for a hot Summer day. He then guided my group and I through the tasting flight of reds and was happy to answer all 100 of our questions. The tasting flight included wines by Odette, PlumpJack Estate, and CADE. The assorted cheeses, dried fruit, figs from their trees on property, and breadsticks on our table paired perfectly with the wines!
After the tasting, we toured the estate. I enjoyed viewing Odette’s winemaking facility since it’s LEED Gold certified. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. This prestigious environmental recognition represents PlumpJack Group’s strong commitment to sustainability. Walking through the vineyards, it was cool to see veraison, or ripening of grapes. Can’t wait for harvest time!
I had a fabulous tour and tasting experience at Odette and it resulted in a case being brought home to enjoy with friends! Highly recommend it. Next time in Napa, I’m going to check out Odette’s sister wineries, CADE and PlumpJack. PlumpJack Group is committed to excellence!
I must visit this hidden gem on my next trip to Napa! Thank you for the wonderful referral. I never heard of Odette before, good to know!
