My Valentine and I took a trip to Neverland via Aqua Shard’s Peter Pan Afternoon Tea. The restaurant is located within the modern and eye-catching skyscraper, The Shard that’s Western Europe’s tallest building.
In normal times, we’d enjoy tea at the stunning Aqua Shard restaurant with floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering 360-degree views of London. During COVID times, we enjoyed the Peter Pan Afternoon Tea experience from the comfort of our flat with a view of The Shard from a far. It was still lovely!
I placed my order for the tea experience online a week before Valentine’s Day and was informed that it would be delivered on Saturday, February 13th sometime between the hours of noon – 4pm.
The day of delivery, it arrived around 12:15pm in a box decorated with a Aqua Shard ribbon and Peter Pan sticker
Unpacking the box, I felt like a kid in a candy store with all of the delicious sweet and savory treats! I was happy to find a whimsical menu that outlined the Peter Pan Afternoon Tea experience.
I was directed to preheat the oven to 160 degrees celsius as the following items needed to be heated: Baked Pig, Captain Hook, An Enormous Mushroom Chimney, and scones.
Our culinary adventure started with a savory selection: Baked Pig with pork sausage, caramelized onion, and puff pasty. An Enormous Mushroom Chimney with bread and duxelles. “Codfish” Captain Hook with deep fried cod brandade, red breadcrumbs, and the captain’s hook.
Sandwiches: The Lost Boys with roasted chicken, crispy bacon, mayonnaise, and mustard. The Little Bird with egg mayo, cucumber, chives, and truffle.
Freshly baked vanilla and golden raisin scones with coconut clotted cream, raspberry, and apricot jams.
Sweet treats: Hook’s Perish Cake with lime green Victoria cake, coconut, and fondant icing. Tinker Bell with sweet pastry biscuit and white icing.
Peter’s Secret Never Tree Entrance with dark chocolate mousse, raspberry jam, chocolate sponge, and ganache.
Tick-Tock The Crocodile with raspberry and rooibos tea jelly and a crocodile gummy.
The nostalgic sweet and savory delights paired nicely with Darling Tea – a blend of black teas from around the world and elegant rose petals. It has a faintly sweet and floral finish. Also, Adventure Tea – a blend of black tea, sunflower blossoms, mango pieces, ginger, lemon peel, and orange peel.
I thoroughly enjoyed Aqua Shard’s Peter Pan Afternoon Tea experience and it made me feel good that two pounds from each afternoon tea sold is donated to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity to help seriously ill children from across the UK who are treated at the hospital.
I look forward to experiencing more of Aqua Restaurant Group’s at home offerings!
Such a great tea experience, everything looks so delicious! I never knew you could order a whole kit with tea and food. Lovely!
And so nice it’s also a fundraiser.
Great post!
