Did you know that you can now watch shows at NYFW through a VR headset or wear Fila running shoes that helps track and interpret fitness data? How about sporting a chic ‘smart handbag’ that can detect ambient temperature, toxic gases and barometric pressure – sending alerts to help you live a more informed life.
As the official technology partner of New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017, Intel showcased new immersive experiences and technology solutions that are helping grow and transform the fashion industry.
Intel is re-inventing the runway viewing experience by partnering with VOKE, the California based live VR events company, to produce the first live, stereoscopic virtual reality broadcasts from NYFW. Consumers were able to access the TrueVR experience by downloading Voke’s Samsung GearVR app from the Oculus Store and use a Gear VR headset and Samsung mobile phone. The immersive 2D offering was streamed live on NYFW.com and many of the designers websites. Designers include Prabal Gurung, Misha Nonoo, and Marissa Webb, to name a few.
Discovering Intel’s wide range of innovative collaborations with designers and brands at Intel’s party, “The Fusion of Fashion and Technology” was a very cool experience. Can’t wait to see what Intel will do next!
