Rinat Brodach is an exciting new designer whose designs focus on the art of draping a woman’s body. Ms. Brodach is an Israeli, New York based designer who uses her extensive training and experience in fabric draping to design her collection, which emphasizes the feminine and strength of women. She uses a variety of luxurious fabrics that include black cotton, silk jersey, stretch jersey, and shiny jersey.
I was so excited to be invited to Rinat Brodach’s design studio nestled in the heart of New York’s Garment District to preview her Spring/Summer 2014 collection, “How To Expose the Heart.”
In the words of Ms. Brodach, whose concept of the collection was inspired “by the dilemma of exposing and protecting the heart. I wear my heart on my sleeve. Taken from everyday life where the heart is exposed, passionate, happy, sad, scared and vulnerable.
Boning is a process used in garments to enhance the heart areas for protecting as a metaphor for the rib cage, creating a natural shield for the heart. Draping is also used around the areas of the heart to show different situations and feelings after exposing the heart or protecting the heart.”
I especially love that Rinat Brodach designs her collection for strong and independent women who are not afraid to be sexy. The dresses and tops are functional, wearable, and will make any woman feel empowered!
