Perched on the East Gros Ventre Butte, a mountaintop between downtown Jackson and Teton Village, you will find the Amangani – meaning “peaceful home” in Sanskrit.
As you drive up the winding road to the hotel’s entrance, you will notice a theme that stretches across Aman’s thirty-two worldwide locations – privacy.
As you’re greeted by the valet then enter the hotel lobby, you will be struck by floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the view like a painting. The Amangani mixes wood, stone and even leather in a tasteful balance between modernity and the Western vibe that Jackson Hole tends to have.
If you feel like catching some rays and perhaps some views, make your way to the 115 foot long infinity pool overlooking the Snake River Valley and Grand Teton National Park. Lounge out by the picturesque pool and order yourself a cocktail while taking in the fresh mountain air.
After you leave the pool, try the onsite restaurant for a spot of lunch. I found the wagyu burger to be the best burger I’ve ever had!
Heading to the room, take in the curated artwork and cultural nods that the Amangani makes to its surrounding area. Inside your room, you will find that much of the design is arranged around the majestic views of the Teton Mountains.
As you head back down into the valley from the Amangani, you feel as though you are quite literally descending from heaven. I continue to dream about my next visit.
