One of the most exclusive and stunning hotels of our time, Amangiri lies in Canyon Point, Utah.
Blended into the surrounding rocks with stark lines, it’s a curious site at first glance. It comes across as a softly colored bunker from afar. As you pull into the courtyard, the desert heat will melt away as you are greeted with the world famous Aman treatment from the moment your car door opens.
Walking up the staircase, your eyes are led to a desert vista framed by the sharp concrete lines of the hotel. As you enter the lobby, you will feel as if you have been transported to the future.
Head outside and you will find the most unique pool on this planet. I am not kidding! It is a U-shaped masterpiece that wraps around a dramatic canyon rock that slips into the pool. Come here to relax or for a stunt-worthy social post!
While the Amangiri has become an institution one must visit; nearby something interesting is happening. A few minutes away by a chauffeur driven BMW you will find Camp Sarika, Aman’s take on glamping in America’s southwest.
Here you will feel like you are on a safari while still pampered with running water (full size bath tub, indoor and outdoor shower as well as private plunge pool). Each camp is sunk into the ground amongst the landscape as this allows for views of the surrounding landscape minus the worries of prying eyes and paparazzi. As I’ve come to find, this is a foremost consideration of Aman’s thirty-two locations across the globe.
To round the night off, head to the restaurant onsite for a Native American inspired tasting menu which captures the spirit of the region. Sourcing its ingredients from land, sky and water, the tasting menu will leave you satisfied and thinking of the history of the region.
As the night comes to a close, you will find yourself riding a wave of delicious food, gorgeous scenery and impeccable service.
While the Aman group has become my north star of luxury and service, the Amangiri occupies a realm of its own.
Such an Amazing resort! I could go just for the pool alone. Picture perfect! Thank you for sharing your incredible experience. Love all the photos and especially the pic of you and Matthew! ❤️
Fab post. That pool! Wonderful photos and descriptions! Happy to see you enjoying it – maybe someday I will too! Seems to be a restful, restorative place for the soul and a feast for the senses.
