The 21st annual Best of the Bay celebration hosted by San Francisco Magazine took place at the Ferry Building. It was quite a Summer soirée with live entertainment, fine food and drink in a beautiful setting. The halls were lit up in vibrant colors and it was cool to see this historic San Francisco landmark transformed into an exclusive event. Porsches were parked right in front of the building and out back there were stunning bay views.
During the event, Domaine Carneros sparkling wine was poured and it was accompanied by indulgent bites of blinis topped with creme fraiche and Tsar Nicoulai caviar. Moroccan restaurant, Berber, served exotic bites and belly dancers in glitzy outfits danced the night away. Other delicious bites included empanadas from El Porteno, yellowfin tuna crudo from A16, and fillo rolls from La Mediterranee. After a variety of savory bites, I settled my sweet tooth with cheesecake bites from SF Cheesequakes and Humphrey Slocombe ice cream.
The event was a Spirits enthusiast’s dream and each of the following brands had their own booth. Guests could sip on the following throughout the evening:
Balvenie
Glenfiddich
Hendricks
Monkey Shoulder
Fort Point Beer
Overall, it was a world-class event and a feast for the senses! As a San Francisco Bay Area native it was fun to celebrate the best of the Bay!
