Situated on the edge of a Tuscan village in between Rome and Florence is Borgo 69, a collection of 12 boutique serviced villa suites nestled in a 200 tree Tuscan olive grove, complete with its own stunning infinity pool. If you’re looking for a Tuscan getaway, the countryside surrounding Borgo 69 is a perfect representation of Tuscany and its rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees.
While the countryside is as classic as it gets, Borgo 69 is a tastefully modern set of buildings both inside and out. You can choose between a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom villa. All villa suites have a luxury bathroom for every bedroom, living areas, kitchens and panoramic views looking out towards Cortona. The villas have a contemporary country style, using natural materials such as wood, marble, travertine, local stone and linens. The beautiful private terraces and gardens planted with Mediterranean aromatic herbs and shrubs making for easy alfresco living.
If you’re conscious of the environment, you should know that the owners of Borgo 69 have gone to great pains in designing the villas to make them energy efficient, with decorative ventilated walls, and eco-friendly heating and cooling systems. In addition, Borgo 69 has solar panels on the roof. In the parking lot, there are electric car chargers onsite for our guests to use.
With on-site concierge services, the service at Borgo 69 is a cherry on top of this Tuscan cake! If you’re looking for activities during the day, there is also a private tennis court nearby, bicycle rentals on site as well as pleasant walks in and around the surrounding town.
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a complimentary drink before checking in and then being shown to their accommodation. Although Borgo 69 is offered as a self-catering getaway, a continental breakfast is included for a great start to the day. You can choose from a variety of delicious pastries, yogurt, seasonal fruit, as well as soft boiled eggs.
Twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays there is a communal dinner party for all those staying at Borgo 69 and the nearby sister property, Villa Fontelunga. I’d definitely suggest trying to make one of these dinner parties as they tend to be lively events where you can get to know some of the other guests at the hotels.
Overall, if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway that can serve as the perfect home base from which to explore Tuscany, look no further than Borgo 69!
