Located at the top of California’s wine country in the relaxed town of Calistoga, a town best known for its geothermal waters sits Solage, a member of Auberge Resorts collection. Nestled amongst olive and palm trees its a home away from home for foodies, vintners and wellness lovers.
It circles around the motto of “detox then retox”, offering wonderful spots to do both. When it comes to “detox” there’s a 130-foot landmark pool and four pools varying of differing temperatures – from icy cold to 103 degrees. The award-winning Spa Solage offers 20,000 square feet of health and wellness with 14 treatment rooms, Bathhouse, a state-of-the-art gym and a Yoga & Movement Studio with complimentary daily fitness classes.
The resort recently completed a $30 million dollar renovation and new additions include a reimagined pool deck with lounge seating, amenity-rich cabanas, and versatile indoor-outdoor event spaces for celebrations and meetings.
As for accommodations, there are newly built cottage-style suites, including two-bedroom Estate Suites and one-bedroom Orchard Suites. Each have its own private outdoor patio, shower and soaking tub for indulging in panoramic views of the Palisades and Mayacamas Mountains. Additionally, the resort’s guest studios have been reimagined and strike the perfect balance between upscale and approachable. All accommodations feature neutral colors, natural materials, and well-crafted furniture.
When it comes to “retox” one can do so at the elegant Solbar or the resort’s latest addition, Picobar offering modern mexican cuisine from Solbar’s acclaimed Executive Chef, Gustavo Rios. Picobar is housed in a new, contemporary wooden barn featuring firepits and it has a lovely ambiance that’s designed for people to gather and enjoy live music, food, and cocktails.
At Solage guests experience Calistoga at its best! The service, cuisine, and accommodations are wonderful and I look forward to experiencing more of Auberge Resorts’ properties in California’s wine country and beyond!
