Nestled in the hills of Carmel Valley and perhaps the best kept secret of the Monterey Peninsula is the grandiose Stonepine Estate.
Part of the Historic Hotels of America, Stonepine Estate features a beautiful chateau built in the Great Gatsby era, a charming bed and breakfast, and an exclusive horse ranch.
I stayed at Stonepine Estate’s cute and quaint Paddock House that was located amongst the stables of what was formerly known as Double H Ranch. Around the 1930’s it was considered the leading thoroughbred breeding farm west of the Mississippi. Throughout my stay, I was lucky to have thoroughbred race horses as my neighbors.
To top it off, olympic riders saddled up as I devoured delicious blueberry muffins, eggs, bacon and fresh fruit for breakfast.
The Paddock House features four comfortable bedrooms, all decorated with a country motif. Some of the recreational amenities include a volleyball court, horseshoe throwing pit, and a shuffleboard pavilion. There’s also a spectacular entertainment loft located right above the horse stables with a pool table, ping-pong and juke box. I felt as if I was in a western movie!
From the moment the gates to Chateau Noel open, you know you are in for something truly special. As you drive along the long and luxurious driveway your eyes gravitate to the magnificent Mediterranean-style villa with a Rolls Royce parked in front of it.
Chateau Noel features eight rooms, a golf course, tennis court, swimming pool, croquet lawn, and twelve formal gardens. To top it off, two Rolls Royces – that’s right, I said plural Rolls Royces! With all of the amazing amenities and beautiful sights, you feel like you’re on cloud nine.
I had a wonderful stay at Stonepine Estate and cannot wait to visit this fairytale property again!
Can’t wait to stay here this weekend!!!!
