If your a spirits lover and/or plane geek, Alameda is calling your name! Previously, a naval air station and now filled with cool industrial distilleries, it’s the perfect spot to distillery hop with friends!
The Infatuation partnered with Hangar 1 to host a Harvest Dinner with Michelin-starred restaurant, Lord Stanley. Prior to the dinner, I’d never heard of Lord Stanley before, but it’s located on Polk Street in SF.
A five course family style meal was served and Hangar 1 cocktails to pair with each course. My favorite cocktail was The Lord Stanley, a concoction of Hangar 1 Bent Wing Brandy, Port Wine, Maple Syrup, Cherry Bitters, and Sparkling Wine. It tasted much like a Manhattan, but it was sweeter and easier to drink.
Out of the five courses, dessert was my favorite. A Seasonal Fruit Eton mess with meringue and ‘honey comb’ vodka jelly. The Lemon Bar cocktail made you pucker like a sour Warhead candy. That said, it was a bit too sour for me!
While devouring Michelin-starred cuisine and sipping on cocktails, I couldn’t take my eyes off the perfect view of SF.
Outside of the view, Hangar 1 has a lot to offer – vodka & cheese pairings, distillery tours, and is the ultimate party spot on Alameda island. I certainly look forward to visiting again in the future!
