The Landsby hotel is located in the heart of Solvang, a quaint town in Central California with Danish architecture and charm. It’s located two hours north of Los Angeles and is a destination in itself with wonderful tasting rooms, shops, and Danish delights!
From the moment I stepped into The Landsby’s lobby, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is a perfect blend of Scandinavian and Californian design, with clean lines, natural materials, and pops of color throughout. Upon arrival, there was a cheese board and bottle of local wine waiting which was just what we needed after a long drive!
During my stay, I resided in a spacious Junior Suite that had a lovely living room with a view of the hotel’s quaint courtyard. The bed was heavenly with soft linens and plush pillows and the deep soaking tub was a nice addition.
The hotel’s restaurant, Mad & Vin, is not to be missed and serves modern, farm-to-table cuisine. The Santa Barbara Wine Country is in the surrounding area and the restaurant’s extensive list of local wines reflect this.
If you prefer to wind down with a cocktail, you’ve come to the right spot as Mad & Vin shakes up some of the best in town! I had the Puesta del Sol with Blanco tequila, mango, chamoy, and lime. My boyfriend had the Dusk Berry with mezcal reposado tequila, raspberries, aztec chocolate bitters, and lime. Both were incredibly smooth and made it easy to go for another round!
For dinner, I had the Skillet-seared Salmon with creamy farro and yuzu green goddess, while my boyfriend had the Bucatini with roasted maitake, king oyster, shimeji mushrooms, truffle cream sauce, sage, and ricotta salata. We were pleased with our choices and left feeling satisfied!
Overall, my stay at the Landsby Hotel was an absolute delight. The hotel’s fantastic location, stylish decor, and delicious cuisine make it the perfect place to unwind and relax. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a weekend with friends, I’d consider this sweet spot in Solvang!
