Nestled within Beverly Hills’ Golden Triangle, The Maybourne Beverly Hills is a sophisticated escape for those looking for a slice of the high life.
Combining British taste with California style, The Maybourne Beverly Hills is an opulent retreat that never fails to impress. The service is impeccable, the food is top notch, and the rooms are remarkable.
I personally stayed in a Balcony Suite with a stunning view of rolling Hollywood hills. It featured a large bedroom with an incredibly comfortable bed, a spacious living room that could be sectioned off, and a luxurious bathroom with a deep soaking tub and shower.
Being a high tea enthusiast, I was pleased to discover that Claridge’s of London, its sister hotel, brought its quintessentially English Afternoon Tea to the West Coast. This is the first time in its history that Claridge’s Afternoon Tea was served outside of Mayfair.
Afternoon tea took place in The Maybourne Beverly Hills’ lush courtyard and the service began with Laurent Perrier champagne, followed by a spot of Claridges Blend tea. Their carefully curated selection of teas are sourced and selected by world-renowned tea expert, Henrietta Lovell of the Rare Tea Co. She works directly with some of the oldest and many of the most innovative tea gardens from every corner of the world.
In addition, the hotel curated a unique menu that featured a delightful selection of British and Californian-inspired flavors. A variety of tea sandwiches were served, in addition to a Senora flour soft taco with grilled lobster, yam, cilantro and lime. The savory bites were accompanied by classic scones from Claridge’s and they paired perfectly with Cornish clotted cream and Marco Polo gelée. Also, the hand-made pastries were picture perfect and included lemon meringue tarts, chocolate pallets with pistachio praline, and vanilla saint-honorés.
Following afternoon tea, I headed upstairs to the rooftop pool. From the modern pool and cabanas, you can see all the way to the Pacific Ocean. If you need a break from the sun, there’s a well designed lounge on the same floor which offers a bit of shade.
There are many wonderful spots to sip and savor fine cuisine at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. Each of their dining venues serve fresh and seasonal California fare, but each of their menus are different which keeps sophisticates on their toes!

Overall, I had a wonderful stay at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. It’s the perfect location for shopping on Rodeo Drive and indulging in retail therapy, but to be honest, it’s so nice that you won’t want to leave!
