Perched on the American Riviera, The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara is a captivating coastal hotel that showcases some of California’s most pristine coastline. The hotel is not just a luxurious resort but a charming seaside village situated on 78 acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean. During my stay, I enjoyed meandering pathways and savoring the stunning scenery of Mediterranean-inspired architecture, picturesque gardens, and panoramic ocean views.
The Ritz-Carlton Bacara offers a range of luxurious accommodations designed to meet the highest standards of comfort and sophistication. The resort has 358 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, each exuding a sense of refined elegance.
The resort also has six restaurants and similarly they offer ocean views and local flavors, but each venue has its own vibe and unique design.
During my stay I had lunch at The Bistro serving cuisine that perfectly marries authentic Italian and Mediterranean flavors. I dined al fresco with my boyfriend, Matthew and while we listened to the soothing sound of waves we shared the following items:
- Caprese with burrata cheese, preserved heirloom tomatoes, pickled strawberries, tomato and strawberry water. This exquisite dish combines the classic elements of a Caprese salad with a unique twist
- Salsiccia brick oven pizza. The crust is a harmonious blend of chewiness, lightness, and subtle crispness. Sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes is spread on top and together they make the perfect canvas for the following flavorful toppings: Italian sausage, vibrant friarielli, spicy calabrian chilies, and creamy mozzarella
- Grilled shrimp tacos. Nestled within a flour tortilla, the grilled shrimp is complemented by crunchy Napa cabbage. Red onion ceviche adds a burst of tanginess and calabrian pepper yogurt is drizzled over the tacos, adding a touch of heat and creaminess. Cilantro is garnished on top and provides a refreshing and aromatic touch
Matthew and I both immersed ourselves in the vibrant flavors of the MISS CAL cocktail. It’s a delightful libation featuring Del Maguey Vida mezcal, ginger liqueur, aperol, grapefruit juice, agave, and lime. It’s perfectly balanced, easy to drink and it’s hard to settle for just one!
For happy hour we headed to ‘O’ Bar + Kitchen serving authentic Latin dishes and bold cocktails. The bar is “O shaped” and has oceanic accents. Both Matthew and I had a
Smoked Serenity cocktail. It’s a refreshing and captivating libation that combines the distinctive notes of Del Maguey Vida mezcal with the herbaceous essence of basil liquor, cool cucumber juice, and a zing of lemon. We ordered the following appetizers as well:
- Tender and succulent octopus, paired with herb-marinated gigante beans, creamy Meyer lemon yogurt, and a zesty Spanish chorizo vinaigrette
- Chips and guacamole
Having Club Lounge access was quite enjoyable. Guests can savor delectable culinary offerings including gourmet breakfasts, afternoon tea, and evening hors d’oeuvres, all prepared with the utmost attention to detail.
