A blend of beaux arts style and 21st century elegance, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park provides a peaceful and luxurious escape in the heart of the Big Apple. Across the street there’s the historic 843-acre Central Park and it’s steps away from the city’s cultural attractions.
Upon walking into my room, I was pleasantly surprised with a welcome amenity that’s almost too pretty to eat – an Empire State Building made out of chocolate. It was accompanied by chocolate covered oreos, pretzels and artisan chocolates.
Their newly redesigned guest rooms exude contemporary, townhouse-inspired luxury and feature custom furnishing and bespoke amenities. Striking photography from New York artists and page-turning books on fashion and city life contrast beautifully against dreamy hand-drawn cloud wallpaper and carpet inlaid with a Matisse sketch. With infinite tree-top views of Central Park, the room is hard to leave.
Each morning, I enjoyed contemporary American cuisine from the comfort of my own room. Being an H&H Bagel lover, I of course had to order one with smoked salmon. If you’re not familiar with H&H Bagels, its a New York bagel institution that was founded in 1972. My boyfriend, Matthew, had the Eggs Benedict and was quite happy with his choice.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed a posh picnic in the park and brought along a chic picnic basket and Ritz-Carlton branded tote bag. The tote bag was filled with Chef’s selection of charcuterie, artisanal cheeses, Caesar Salad, Cavatelli Pasta Salad, and indulgent Chocolate chip cookies. We sat on a cozy picnic blanket by Johnstons of Elgin, a brand appointed by the Prince of Wales. It’s was a delightful spread!
In the evening, we headed to Contour – the perfect spot to unwind and indulge. It offers an artisan chef menu of shareable plates utilizing locally-sourced ingredients and brilliant craft cocktails. The ambiance is glamorous and creates the right mood for relaxing, sharing, and connecting. I sipped on their classic Manhattan cocktail and noshed on some cheese and charcuterie.
The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park offers a plethora of wonderful amenities, such as a La Prairie Spa that was carefully designed to incite rejuvenation and tranquility If your not familiar with La Prairie of Switzerland, it’s a luxury skincare legend and its only northeastern spa retreat is at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park.
On the second floor, there’s a Club Lounge that overlooks Central Park and a reimagined Fitness Center that offers the latest in state-of- the-art equipment from Technogym.
Overall, this well-positioned hotel creates memories with its excellent view and with its legendary Ritz-Carlton service. I hope to visit again next time in New York!
You sure had a special time ‘Puttin on the ritz’
H&H bagels are my favorite! I used to truck all the way up town to get them.
The picnic in the park looks so fun! I’ve added a stay at the Ritz Central Park to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
