Admiring Madrona Manor’s fabulous holiday decor
Delicious Meals at the Madrona Manor Restaurant
Nestled in the hills above the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County, Madrona Manor is a majestic three-story Victorian Mansion surrounded by enchanting grounds and wooded areas. It was built in 1881 and is filled with beautiful antiques and offers a relaxing and private atmosphere.
The Inn’s luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites are romantic, spacious, and very comfortable. In true bed-and-breakfast tradition, every room at the Manor is slightly different. Most have fireplaces and some have balconies with spectacular vineyard, mountain, and garden views.
I stayed in Room 204, the Mansion Master Bedroom with Balcony. It includes luxurious amenities such as pillow-top mattresses, feather soft linens, thick terry cloth robes, and a clawfoot tub that’s perfect after a long day of wine tasting! I also enjoyed their restaurant’s extensive breakfast buffet.
There is always something in bloom at Madrona Manor and its extensive organic kitchen garden generates produce for the restaurant. At breakfast, I enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice made from oranges grown on the property. In the evening, I enjoyed a lovely meal at the Manor’s award winning restaurant. I dined on indulgent Ricotta Gnocchi that included roasted rutabaga, apple, sage, and lemon oil. It was a real treat to meet the restaurant’s Michelin starred chef, Jesse Mallgren.
For dinner, the restaurant focuses on keeping their menus modern, fresh, and seasonal. Guests may choose from an a’la carte menu or Chef Mallgren’s tasting menu served in their intimate dining rooms. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! The restaurant’s pastry chef Manny Fimbrez offers creative desserts to complete the experience.
During my stay, I enjoyed wandering the property. The holiday decorations were spectacular and over-the-top, as well as the gardens. Their wraparound porch is the perfect spot to hangout at with a great book.
