New Orleans is the place to eat, drink, and be merry! I stayed at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans located in the heart of Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. If you’re seeking a lively hotel, this is the spot!
My Bourbon Balcony Entertainment Suite overlooked all the action. You can easily sit outside on the balcony for hours – it’s the best people watching! The suite includes an entertainment area, room, and two bathrooms. There’s a door that divides the entertainment area from the bedroom so you can zen out for a bit.
Restaurant R’Evolution
There are a couple of restaurants onsite so you don’t have to walk too far for great food! Desire Oyster Bar serves classic New Orleans style food and I especially enjoyed their grits! We had appetizers and drinks at Restaurant R’Evolution one evening, their caviar is presented as a stairway to heaven. Also, the crab beignets are to die for!
Commander’s Palace
Cafe Du Monde
Brennan’s
Desire Oyster Bar
Since the hotel is centrally located we walked everywhere – French Market, Cafe Du Monde for beignets, the Riverwalk, and Brennan’s for their famous bananas foster. Our first night, we dined at Commander’s Palace and had a fabulous three course meal paired with the warmest Southern hospitality! Sunday brunch with jazz on Steamboat Natchez was a treat – amazing food, drinks, and music!
In the evening, wander to Frenchmen Street. It’s the spot that locals go for live music. There’s so much energy, passion, and talent in each music venue, you can’t help but smile and clap to the beat!
It was my first time in NOLA and had a blast. We ate too good and did not have one bad meal! Can’t wait to visit again!
